About Your Library
We have been using the Infiniti library management system for 5 months at Chauncy School. Our library is a very busy and well-used one. We have 4 lessons every day, ranging from Year 7 to Year 9. The students read from our very well-stocked fiction section. We also do spellings and a computer-based comprehension reading scheme called ‘Read Theory’ – suited to all abilities. We also have a large Senior Fiction range, which older students and staff utilise too. Reading is seen as a key part of student learning and is promoted as such by the Senior Leadership Team. Our library was even mentioned in our Outstanding Ofsted report. For me and my colleague Chris, it is a very positive place to work.
Why You Chose Infiniti LMS
Our previous system was not fit for purpose anymore, and the customer service wasn’t great, so when I contacted Nick, he immediately made me feel that Infiniti would definitely be a good choice for us. We had several emails and calls, and Nick always made me feel that nothing was too much trouble, even when I asked the most idiotic questions! He always made me feel validated.
Impact on Day-to-Day Library Work
The system is quicker and more efficient than our old one in every way, and we will be looking to run reports now, which we have never done before. Cataloguing is so much faster for us, as is everything else. The only suggestion I have made is to maybe have a direct ‘button’ for renewals to save putting the surname in, but it is a very small thing.
Impact on Students and Staff
With Infiniti, we can get our new books on the shelves faster for the students to read, and taking off the old ones is much simpler than before too. This just makes the library work more efficiently. We are actually enjoying this system so much more!
Favourite Features
Cataloguing with Infiniti is so much easier. You simply type in the book title and the information comes up. As yet, we haven’t made the most of the new system, but we fully intend to. And reporting. We are looking to run reports on our book collection – how they are used, who by, gender, age, etc.
Advice to Other School Libraries
Just do it. You will not regret switching to the Infiniti library management system. I was apprehensive at first, as I had used my old system for over 20 years, but the transition was easy, and customer service from the PSP team is first-rate.
