Why Sir William Perkins’s School Switched to PSP’s Infiniti Library Management System
We first started working with Magdalena the librarian at Sir William Perkins’s School in Chertsey, Surrey in May 2019 to upgrade the school’s library management system to our cloud-native Infiniti LMS. Here’s what she had to say about her experience switching from Oliver to Infiniti and what it was like working with the PSP team.
Did you switch or upgrade your library management system from a previous supplier?
Yes, we switched from Softlink Oliver.
What was the reason for the switch/upgrade to Infiniti?
I didn’t like the rigidity of our previous system. We could not customise the look and the colour scheme was uninspiring, and additional features had to be purchased separately, which brought up the overall cost.
The switch to Infiniti was very straightforward and we were assisted every step of the way by the PSP team. It was done over the half-term holiday and the system was ready to use on our return to work.
How does Infiniti make managing your school library easier/more efficient?
Infiniti (and LibPaths) is a fully customisable system; it allows us to include various sources (images, videos, RSS feeds, etc.) on the page, allows for different colour schemes for different portals and pages, and is aesthetically pleasing, encouraging students and staff to interact with it. It is also web-based and cloud-native, which makes it accessible from any device with the internet.

Do you have a favourite feature or something in particular that makes your life easier?
I like the easy functionality of the LibPaths portals, targeted at different audiences. I can promote different resources for different groups of users.
Have you had any feedback on the Infiniti software from school library users?
Students and staff commented that the look is pleasing (similar to what they are used to online) and that the layout is very straightforward.
Do you also use the LibPaths independent learning portals?
Yes.
How did you find working with the PSP team?
The PSP team are very helpful; always at the end of a call and ready to assist, even with small issues.
Would you recommend Infiniti, LibPaths and PSP to other school library teams?
I certainly would, and in fact, I do it whenever I can!
