Why The Guernsey Institute Hired Our Cataloguing Wand & Laptop for a Library Stocktake
The Guernsey Institute (TGI) University Centre are in the process of combining 3 libraries into a purpose-built space. Anne, the Informatics Coordinator, did not want to carry “stale” stock over to the new space, so a comprehensive book audit was needed to weed out undesirable resources.
What loan equipment did you borrow?
We hired the Orbis audit wand and laptop.
How would you rate the overall condition of the loan unit when you received it?
5 stars! The unit was clean, properly prepared for use and functioned perfectly throughout the loan period, although I did have a minor technical issue at the outset.
What was the problem and was it resolved quickly and efficiently?
I could not connect the Orbis wand to the laptop, so I called the PSP support team. They responded very quickly, so no time was wasted, and I was able to crack on with the job with everything now working as expected.
Was the unit easy to install or set up?
Yes, the instructions provided were very easy to follow, and there was an electronic guide on the laptop too.
How satisfied were you with the loan process?
The whole loan and return process was super-easy and seamless! We are based in Guernsey, which sometimes causes issues when dealing with UK companies, but not in this case. The PSP team were great and always on hand to assist.
Would you recommend our loan service and PSP to other library teams?
Yes, and I will definitely be using the cataloguing equipment again for the next audit!
