PSP to Exhibit at the SLA Weekend Course 2024
We are pleased to confirm we will be exhibiting once again at the SLA’s Weekend Course, intriguingly titled Libraries Unleashed: Beyond the Shelves! We will also be running a special ‘lucky dip’ prize draw that couldn’t be easier to enter. This year’s event will take place on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th June at the 4-star Mercure Sheffield St Paul’s Hotel & Spa in Sheffield’s city centre. As always, the Weekend Course is designed to help you unlock the full potential of your school library and, as this year’s theme suggests, extend the library’s reach beyond the shelves and into the wider curriculum.
As well as networking with other school librarians and discovering ways that you might be able to collaborate to achieve your goals, you will also have access to the usual high-quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) content across the two days. Whether you attend the full weekend or a single day, this year you’ll have the opportunity to build your own training programme. And let’s not forget about Friday Evening Drinks (which we’ll be sponsoring this year 🥂🍻) and the 3-course Conference Dinner.
As well as lightning talks and networking breaks, you’ll also be able to attend sessions with Darren Chetty (UCL), Dr Andrew Cox (University of Sheffield), Frances Hardinge (author of Unraveller and winner of the Costa Book of the Year), Nicola Morgan, Patrick Ness (author of Different for Boys and two-time winner of the Carnegie Medal) and Paul Register (Stan Lee Excelsior Award founder). Last year’s Supplier Exhibition took place online a few weeks before the Weekend Course so we’re looking forward to getting back to an in-person event in the biggest exhibition space yet!
